Begin with the Christmas Light Switch-On event in Cathedral Square, then step back in time at the Victorian Christmas Fayre. Other highlights include Worcester Cathedral’s Christmas Tree Festival.

Soak up the Atomsphere at the Worcester Victorian Market

The Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre takes place between 28th November to 1st December.
Experience a Victorian Christmas with costumed characters, traditional fairground rides, and the street market.
Browse nearly 200 stalls filled with crafts, local produce, gifts, and food and drink.
Enjoy performances from musicians, school choirs, and buskers. Stilt walkers and performers add even more magic to the Christmassy atmosphere.
Visit the Christmas Tree Festival at Worcester Cathedral

From December 5 through January 6, Worcester Cathedral hosts the Christmas Tree Festival.
Local schools, charities, and businesses decorate trees throughout the cathedral, creating a stunning display.
Lantern Making and Christmas Market at the Hive Library
Every weekend until Christmas, kids aged 5+ can create glowing lanterns in our workshops at The Hive (10-11 am & 2-3 pm), followed by festive tales at Rat-a-Tat Tales. Parental supervision needed and book in advance for lantern-making!
In addition, you can visit the BIPC Worcestershire Christmas Fayre at The Hive Library, Worcester, on Saturday, 7th December, from 10 am to 3 pm. This festive event supports local businesses with a Christmas market featuring unique, handcrafted gifts, including jewellery, accessories, artwork, and treats. Enjoy family fun with a treasure hunt, Storytime with Father Christmas, and decoration-making (small charge applies). Free entry, no booking required.
Experience the Cathedral at Night
As well as the Christmas tree festival, the Cathedral is hosting “All is Calm, All is Bright” evening events which take place on Thursday 12 December, Monday 16 December and Thursday 19 December between 7.30pm to 9:30pm.
Enjoy mulled wine and mince pies while viewing the trees illuminated at night. Families can explore the historic cathedral and enjoy an evening viewing of the Christmas tree festival.
See Aladdin at the Swan Theatre

The Worcester Repertory Company will bring the magical world of Aladdin to life at the Swan Theatre from December 2, 2024, to January 5, 2025. Audiences can expect all the traditional panto elements, including lots of opportunities for cheering, booing, and laughter as Aladdin battles the villainous Abanazar to win Princess Jasmine’s heart and free the Genie.

On December 13, 2024, Chapterhouse Theatre Company will present a Christmas Carol at Worcester Cathedral.
Immerse yourself in the tale of Ebenezer Scrooge and his ghostly Christmas journey and discover the true spirit of Christmas.
Christmas at the Commandery
There are a few festive events happening at the Commandery this season. They include:
Festive Craft Morning – On November 30, 2024, attendees (ages 16+) can create Christmas wreaths or garlands in The Commandery’s historic Littlebury Room. Enjoy mince pies and hot drinks as you design your holiday decorations, with provided materials. Workshop admission is £20, and participants can explore The Commandery at half-price on the day of the event. Find out more.
Festive Family Activities- Between 30th November and 31st December, children can take part in the reindeer roundup, Find Santa’s reindeers hidden around the Commandery. They can also make their very own Christmas pudding bauble to take home and hang on the tree.General admission applies and there’s an extra £3 for the activities. Find our more.
Christmas Activities at Worcester City Art Gallery & Museum
There’s plenty of family festive events at the Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum.
The “Family | Make a Christmas Gift!” workshop – is scheduled on December 15, 2024.
Decorate items like flowerpots, canvas bags, or pencil cases as gifts for your loved ones. Craft your own wrapping paper and make reindeer food
The workshop has limited spots and costs £6 per child, with two sessions available: 10:30-11:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. It’s a great way for families to enjoy some festive crafting together.

Artic Animals Crafts – Between 14th December and 5th January, you can purchase an artic animal bag of fun. Take your bag of fun to the activity space in the museum where you can create a pop-up polar bear, a wonderful walrus, and bring to life a beautiful winter landscape using tissue paper and card. Artic Family Trail – Also between 14th December and 5th January, you can purchase a trails sheet for £1. Clues about eight Arctic animals are hidden around the Art Gallery and Museum. Find the clues and write down and draw which animal you think it is on your trail sheet! Find out more.
Activities at Greyfriars House in Worcester
Greyfriars House in Worcester has a few Christmas events for 2024, celebrating the festive season with a Tudor twist.
During the Worcester Victorian Christmas Fayre from November 28 to December 1, the historic house will be decorated in Tudor style. Experience a vintage holiday atmostphere with access to the Old Oak Café and a selection of handcrafted gifts. This event is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., with regular admission prices applying. On December 13, Greyfriars hosts a “Festive Tudor Crafts” event, where re-enactors from the Lypett Household demonstrate traditional holiday crafts, including making sugar plate decorations. This event is free for those entering the hall, while house tours require standard admission
Finally, on December 14, Greyfriars holds the “Festive Tudor Takeover,” running from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. See Tudor feasting, dancing, and festivities in the historic house.

Immerse yourself in a Christmas experience at Croome Court
Immersive Projection – “Rapturous Delight”: Running from December 6 to 22, this immersive projection celebrates Croome’s landscape inspired by the “Pages from Nature” theme. As well as the light and sound experience, visitors can see the festive decorated rooms on the Court’s ground flool. (normal admission applies)

Christmas Wreath-Making Workshop: On November 27, Croome’s florists will lead a hands-on workshop where participants can create their own Christmas wreaths using natural materials, including foraged items from Croome’s parkland. This event requires a ticket (£40 per person).

Festive Choirs in the Church: Throughout late November and early December, local choirs perform at St. Mary Magdalene Church. Concerts are held on November 30, December 7, and December 14 at 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m each day. Choirs like Roses Theatre, Pershore & Winchcombe Community Choirs, and Voices Unlimited will perform seasonal music in this unheated but atmospheric venue (no additional ticket required beyond standard admission)

Celebrate Christmas in 70s and 80s style at Hanbury Hall
Embrace retro holiday cheer with its “It’s Christmaaas!” event at Hanbury Hall. Go back in time to a 1970s and 80s-style Christmas celebration. Running from November 30, 2024, through January 5, 2025, the historic hall is filled with vibrant colours, bright lights, and classic 70s and 80s decorations. Enjoy tunes from past Christmas hits, admire vintage holiday toys, and even spot a snoozing Father Christmas relaxing in the retro setting.
The event is included with general admission. Visitors can explore Hanbury Hall daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m
Santa Safari at West Midlands Safari Park

There’s plenty of festive fun at West Midlands Safari Park this Christmas.
From 22nd November to 24th December, you can head on a Santa Safari.
Combine a 4 mile Santa safari with a visit to Santa in his Grotto. 2024 is destined to be more magical than ever before! Kids can be transported on a magical flight across snowy landscapes on Santa’s Enchanted Elevator before arriving at his grotto to meet Santa, himself.
Festive Fun at Hartlebury Castle
Hartlebury Castle in Worcestershire offers lots of festive activities for families and adults this Christmas.
Don’t miss A Family Christmas, held on the weekend of December 7-8, 2024. Meet Santa, join carol singalongs with Mother Christmas, and explore a Christmas trail with hidden Nutcracker soldiers.
There are also craft stations where children can decorate biscuits, write letters to Santa in a Victorian-themed schoolroom, and try circus skills with balloon modeling and juggling performances.
For a nature touch, take a winter walk around the castle moat and woodland. Handcrafted Christmas wreaths by the castle’s volunteer gardeners will also be available for purchase.
Hayley’s Kitchen will serve seasonal refreshments to complete the experience. Admission covers most activities, but there’s an additional fee for Santa visits. The Nutcracker Trail will also be open daily from November 23 to December 22, with tickets available online.
For grown ups, there are several wreath making workings throughout December as well as a festive performance, A Christmas Wassail by The Cresent Theatre Compnay.
